19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent defended four early break points in a tight final set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
